FineTune is an app to control volume for each app independently, route apps to different output devices, apply EQ.
FineTune uses macOS Core Audio process taps to intercept and modify audio streams before they reach your output devices. This allows precise control without affecting the source applications.

- Bluetooth devices can now be connected directly from the menu bar, with status feedback and error handling
- Paired (but disconnected) Bluetooth devices are now visible in edit mode
- Improved first-time permission setup with clearer prompts and fewer repeated requests
- Ability to ignore specific apps so FineTune doesn’t control them
- Per-app volume boost replaces the old global boost setting
- New quick toggle controls for boost levels directly on each app
- More reliable device switching with smoother transitions and no audio glitches
- Improved internal handling to prevent resource leaks during device changes
- Better compatibility with different audio hardware for volume control
- Volume now reads correctly across more device types
- Fixed multiple resource leaks and stability issues (DDC, device monitors, volume listeners)

I've been using this for over a month now, after my version of SoundSource developed a huge memory leak. FineTune has been completely reliable and has a very small memory footprint, providing all the functionality I needed from SoundSource, without the upgrade fee. The dev has been responsive and this app is really great at what it does.
